One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Turtle?

The people in my family are not pet people. The only animals I have ever owned were fish. Boring fish. For Christmas, I was hoping for a turtle. At the beginning. But it ended up on my 'Not going to get it' list. But when I went downstairs on Christmas morning, to my surprise, there was a turtle in a tank sitting on the table by my stocking. It has been about a week and a half and his/her (We still don't know which it is.) name isn't decided yet. When I asked for help with getting a name for the turtle my parents went nuts. A few of the names they came up with were; soup, the hulk, Rip van winkle, rumplestiltskin, myrtle, yertyl, sammy, (short for salmonella which is found in 90% of all amphibians and reptiles) half pint, mean jo green, my uncle Josh even requested squid. (He has the weirdest reputation for making weird names especially making things something that they aren't.) There were many more ideal names but for now we call it Seashine, the baby turtle. But, the biggest surprise of all was that my mom actually thought the turtle cute and she is the most anti-animal of all.
